The CHC42021 Certificate IV in Community Services is the latest nationally accredited qualification for community service workers who deliver and support person-centred services to individuals and groups. How is the course delivered?

Training is delivered via Blended (Face to Face + Online Distance).

Course Duration: This course is designed to be completed within a 52-week period.

Expected Study Hours: Typical learners are expected to spend 881 hours depending on existing knowledge, skills, and experience.

What will you learn?

This course is designed to develop your expertise in working with the youth. Among others, you will learn to:

  • Facilitate the interests and rights of clients
  • Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence
  • Work with diverse people
  • Facilitate individual service planning and delivery
  • Develop and maintain networks and collaborative partnerships
How will the course be assessed?

All learners will be assessed through:

  • Observation during role play/simulation
  • Questioning may include self-assessment, verbal answers, written questionnaires, activity modules or interview
  • Third-party
  • Structured Activities may include Projects, Case studies, presentations, role play, demonstration, progressive tasks
What are the entry requirements?

This qualification has no official entry requirements. However, to be successful in the course MANAWISE Education require the following:

  • Are 18 years of age and over
  • Are living or working in Australia
  • Have successfully completed at least Australian high school year 10, or equivalent
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Have sound Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills (at least Year 10, or equivalent where suitability will be determined utilising MANAWISE Education’s LLN Assessment Tool prior to enrolment*)

*Learners who do not meet the LLN&D requirements of the course may still enrol into the course provided the enrolment has been endorsed by the trainer and corresponding additional support strategies have been put in place.

Throughout the course, you’ll have access to resources commonly used in community services roles, including:

To complete the course online, you’ll need:

What are the course fees?
  • $200 student contribution fee – on application  
  • $4,500 in total ($300 per unit of competency) 
  • $2,250 in total (students working within our partner organisation MANAWISE) 
What are the Qualification Pathways?
Once you have completed the Certificate IV in Community Services, you can undertake further training to advance in your career in community services, leadership or specialised practice areas.
Is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) available?

MANAWISE Education has a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Policy, to ensure that an individual’s prior learning, achieved through formal and informal training, work experience or other life experiences, is appropriately recognised. This recognition may assist Learners to progress faster through a unit of competency, or allow the student full credit.

Eligible learners may receive credit transfer for equivalent units previously completed through nationally recognised training.
